Announcing the AmaoJapan Podcast

Episode 1 Podcast Title: 「日本人に犬と言ってはいけないのはなぜ?」

Intermediate Japanese-language podcasts are notoriously difficult to find. Most of the material out there is crafted for entry-level Japanese speakers, assume a native level of fluency, or introduce Japan and its culture using only English. But a new podcast just came out that targets that N3-to-N2 sweet spot. It’s called the “AmaoJapan やさしい日本語 (Easy Japanese) Podcast.”

The first episode appeared on September 3, 2020. It provides a summary of current news events communicated by Amao-sensei, a native Japanese-language instructor living in Japan. This introductory episode runs about half an hour, and is one hundred percent Japanese. But if, like me, you have been hovering at the intermediate language level for a long, long, long time, you should still find Amao’s communication style to be clear and understandable.

You can access the podcast by searching for “Amao” or “AmaoJapan” using your favorite podcast tool. To listen directly on his broadcast site, access the episode page on the anchor.fm web site.

Japan Everyday will post each new AmaoJapan broadcast as they are made available. You can also catch each episode as they are released on Amao’s anchor.fm podcast site.
